But, rest easy .. we did indeed have a worthy battle winner!
The Challenge
The USA fielded 14 players, snatched 5835 points = 49.98 %
The UK & Co fielded 9 warriors, grabbed 5839 pts = 50.02%
Yes! It really was that close! A whisker! A herringbone! A measly 4 points between the two armies which gave a terrific victory to the UK!
Well done my UK friends.
But I applaud you all. I think that is the most closely fought battler ever during the whole 12 years of this epic saga.
On to the Survivor battle ... and nerve-wracking stuff too with both armies so closely matched.

The USA won the January Challenge ... but my goodness UK you put up a terrific fight, unlike November when, sad to say, you were annihilated, and what a close scrap it was between jules44 of the UK and Suep of the USA who valiantly clinched the Challenge crown and American victory at the last moment. Terrific stuff! The gritty fighting that epic battles and war sagas are made of.

The first since April and only the second this year in their determined fight to stem the American advance in this eternal never ending war of attrition between the world's two finest armies.

The UK & Co fielded 10 players, snatched 7009 pts = 49.993%
Was that close or was that close! I couldn't even slide a filleted kipper bone between you. 2 points. A meagre 2 points, but victory went to my American buddies and I enthusiastically rattled my hit-tech abacus to spit out the decimal points because I believe in precision in all things. Yes, I'm a slave to technology like that. Not bad for a penguin hey?

A big sigh of relief just flowed and rolled across The Pond to American shores. It registered on the Richter Scale. It did!
