Well we're off to a cracking start...I love the beginning of a new battle. The jostling...the friendly shoving and pushing to claim your pitch. The new upcoming talent like Little Heaven...and the reliable topnotch players like cyprus1. No americans in the top 5....perhaps they're all going to pile into the Mogul. They fielded less troops there and it can make a big difference when 10 points a day can be bagged....20 if you're that jaw-dropping good you can win everyday.
My favourite Challenge player was poolosopher. Good player pool and improving all the time....I've got him earmarked for glory this month. So soon you ask? Naw...my penguin radar is incisively accurate at spotting emerging talent.

And the Mogul
Yesterdays cunning Animal Mogul was Maggie#3 UK (now G-less...yeh..like zero gravity)

But we all know Maggie...dead good...been ranked since she joined the tournament and never been evicted off Mount Olympus and I'm not sure but she might be one of the elect few who have'nt. There is always mos623 of course...the USA answer to UK domination. My favourite Mogul player was ....could have been Maggie....but I fancied paper aeroplane....put in a spanking good start on both quizzes. Gonna keep my eye on paper aeroplane
.......as I do. Don't be nervous, I only ever say nice things.

Today I wanna chat about the Toughies...the fab folk...the devilishly clever players who deserve recognition...deification...and an OBE from the Queen if they can qualify.
You might have noticed the penguins Honours List...(my own modest little contribution to worldwide reknown). There's been a few changes in the rankings. Heard a cafuffle last night...had a peek...saw the demoted ones parachuting out. There were fond farewells and promises to return from the americans bluetwo and nakarinna and on the other side of the mountain....magijoh1, burnsbaron and Beckyel from the UK.. But life goes on....their replacements arrived to a round of applause....and rather raucous celebrations. Yes...we have newcomers to fear... no one will blame you if you try to skirt around a duel with them.
For the USA we fire off a saluting volley for Marsalinator...ah, he's come to reclaim his spot. And also swelling the USA ranks...a cheer for ryanknight.
Now both of these are pretty perfect Mogul players too...part of the USA vanguard.
Not to be outdone...lets volley off some cannons for Mink...Seurat and Stuhern for the UK. ...newly arrived to help led the UK army.
Ain't it nice to be noticed? Now you can become a target for the stalker..the sharpshooter...be ambushed by the opposing side.

But...to my penguin mind....there is another group of stalwart little tigerish fighters. I mean those that have clawed up most rankings...not just achieved a PB....but the ones who've dazzled me with their spiffy performances and have proved they're a force to be reckoned with.
I mean the MOPS.
Last month Top Mop was Little Heaven...a real find...showing loads of promise.
This month I've compiled my list of all of you who've excelled yourself. Take a peek...see if your names on it and if it is feel chuffed...you're on your way up and improving your game. If it ain't it could be...aw have a conciliatory hug...you slid down the rankings , or you have'nt been playing long enough to be eligible and so better luck next time...or you have'nt played the Challenge.

If you're in the Top 10...cheers...you've done exceptionally well and have won yourself the coveted award of a Mop. Not a floor mop...a Penguin Mop.

Oh...I must say I'm impressed just how many of you are listed. It's a tough tournament....I say..I think this calls for a big party!

Before I dash off to spectate I'd like to mention a few new players. Two are USA reservists...must have rallied to the USA call to arms. Nice to have you back Pamelia and MentalMidget. And a Warm Welcome to Deborah and arrgh64...no that's not me been melodramatic...that's the name...arrgh64. Both newly enlisted for the american team aswell. That's 4 new fighters to their credit. No UK.

Right...I'm off...but I'm going to put the record straight...and thank you cyprus1 for your input on this. I noticed some chat in the itty bitty box...and my eye fell on the remark ..."Too many dubious times on here!!!".
I'm offended and hurt.....I run a tight ship here on ice floe city. All is won fairly....all victories are well-earned and are to be applauded in the spirit of good sportmanship, were that not the case penguin would make them walk the plank.....with a harpoon in the back...with sharks circling beneath...
