Results from HQ for February 2010

It's that time again and doesn't it come around quick!
The war wounded have been scraped out of their trenches, resuscitated and sent back out in the field for the new fight ... but who claims victory for Februarys war?

The USA troops were throwing wild parties in Boston Harbour after January ... Yes!
They stole all the glory then. So this pacifist pengy wants to know .. and I can tell you I have my flippers crammed into my mouth here with anxiety ... did the UK let them get away with it ... again.

Right, less of the aimless garrulous drivel and more of the gutwrenching debriefing. Every now and then I love to have a stab at the odd bit of military lingo ...it gives me presence and panache... adds weight to my words, like Montgomery, Einsenhower ... I say that doesn't sound very American. Pershing then .. or Schwarzkopf (and I had to Google that one to spell it right). Alright, Sitting Bull then.
I'm wandering again aren't I?

The Challenge
USA fielded 29 troopers , won 6676 points = 47%
UK & Co fielded 31 troopers, won 8043 points = 53%
Halt that application for US citizenship that I sent by carrier pengy last month!
The UK & Co win the February Challenge by 6% (last month my american buddies had the victory with a 18% win). I might become an immigrant in the UK instead! Is there any room left for a small pengy?
Hmmm .. this makes pengy ponder. What went wrong my friends? And to my British, Welsh, Scottish and Irish and heck ... United friends .. well done!

Can the americans stave off disgrace and grab a win on the Titan?
The Titan
USA fielded 7 troopers , won 1174 points = 48%
UK & Co fielded 18 troopers, won 3291 = 52%
UK & Co terrific troopers win the february Titan by 4 % (last month the USA won by 11%)
I have to say lounging comfy and snug in my combat fatigues at HQ that this quiz is the most exciting for me ... anything can happen .... and it invariably does. And this month will be no different with a few top players having attained the glorified, godhead status of Invincibility and excluded from play. This new battle looks to be wide open and the throne will topple in the stampede to claim it.

The Mogul
USA army wriggled under the guillotine and grabbed 3040 pts = 41%
UK & Co army slithered under the deadly chopper and bagged 4450 pts = 59%
Wow! Take heart my american buddies ... I'm sure once Qmel reads this she'll be concocting some performance enchancing nibbles for the Mogul smorgasbord.
UK & Co win the February Mogul by a ... staggering ... 18%. (last month it was 18.4% ... so tssk ... not so good this month my little woad wearers).
You know if I pan my telescope over the cindered battlefields I can see scalps nailed to a totem pole. Not sure if that's in the rules. Taking trophies and spoils of war.

The Survivor
USA snatched 3075 pints before piranha macerated them in his jaws. I missed the O out there .. points .. I meant points not pints. The more observant of you give yourself a pat on the back....oops that's = 42%
UK & Co snatched 4235 pts before been devoured = 58%
UK & Co win the February Survivor by 16% (last month UK won by 4.8%).

Well what can I say? The UK & Co are back in terrific form!
Rattling my abacus produces the final result over the four individual battlefields
USA = 45%
UK & Co = 55%
UK are the undisputed victors after losing last month by the skin of their teeth (0.8%). Ah ... that's what the scalps are for then.
A cunning, clever statement of their supremacy!

Hey I say USA ... I feel your pain .. my little heart is thumping ... my fishy eyes are moist.
