It Was Hard Fought Right Down To The Last Day...

A Few More Days And The Brits Might Have Caught The Rampaging Americans.

But it was'nt meant to be this time....I have a lump in my throat as I type this.

Aw...Don't Be Despondent UK....They Won By A Smidgen.

With a massive influx of talented players the points up for grabs rocketed to 14,028.

Out of that...America swiped and refused to let go of....7,138.

Despite hard scrummaging and scrapping the UK were left with 6,870.

That's a win of 248 points.

Or if you prefer to think in percentages.

50.8% of the pie for America.

49.2% of the remaining pie for the UK.

That's a 1.6% difference.

That's close....it made my eyes sting..I'm sorry one of you had to lose.

So it's drinks all round for the American team....and a commiserating drink for the UK.

And me....I'll have one for each side.

I could point the finger at mos623....and Triviaballer and WorldB. But I won't. I could say the UK is going to have to find some way of dealing with them. But I won't.

It's a new tournament now...with fresh players...bright-eyed and bushy tailed and keen for the chase all over again.

For those who are interested there's stats and info stuff posted after this.

1) Every month we're going see who the Top Ten Players are from each side. With a bit of luck they are going to ride in the sidebar for the whole of the next tournament...so we can admire them...and they can brag if they want. And why not? Getting in the top ten for your country is an achievement.

2) Every month there will now be an award for the Daily Dervish. Yep...I mentioned this yesterday. It's for the diehard who managed to win most days...beat off the stiff

competition....romp home in pole position ahead of over a hundred other guys...or gals.

3) Every month there will also be a MOP Award....that's the Most Outstanding Player. Whether a newcomer or a veteran...everyone is eligible...it's simple. It's just whoever managed to shine, who climbed most places and so achieved something of a personal high.

4) Finally...at the end is the Massive League Table. This will tell you what points you earned for your country. But it's something else aswell. I've split it into Levels. Divided into 10% groups. Why bother? Come next month you might want to see if you've held your own or improved against the other troopers out there...and so knowing your Level will help...especially if there's an influx of new recruits like last month. The more players...the Levels expand...so you remain in the same one unless you play better...or worse of course.

Right...expect you're fed up of reading my drivel by now....or you could have given up ages ago..but it's time for me to get off now...to a nice glass of something mildly alcoholic and intoxicating.
