Results from HQ for July 2011

July was the first battle in the 5th Tour of Duty ...
Is it really that long? Hasn't time flown?
And a pengy hug for our heroes who have fought in all the previous four. Some players don't frighten easy ... some players are patriotic and fearless. Why? Because their country needs them. Others have fallen by the wayside ... fled the battlefields ... limped away beaten and sore never to return to the fray.

So ... how did the greatest war go in July?
Four individual battles = 1 Great Monthly War.

The Challenge
The USA fielded 26 players, won 8967 points = 50.9% of the war spoils.
The UK & Co fielded 24 players, won 8649 points = 49.1% of the spoils.
The USA army won the August Challenge by 1.8%
In June they won by 4.6%
My dear Uk & Co heroes ... this is good .. you fought harder, better and braver ... but alas, you still went down.
So what are the spoils of war? A crate of chilled non-alcoholic shandy goes to my victorious American buddies!

The Titans
The USA fielded another squad of 7 crack snipers ... oh, they are so good. They grabbed 6479 points = 51.3% of the spoils.
The Uk & Co heroically resisted annihilation with 12 troopers, gaining 6143 points = 48.7%
Yes.. the great USA won this battle as well..... by 2.6%
In June it was a mammoth victory of 10%
Take heart Uk & Co! Are our American friends running out of steam? Perhaps just a little bit?
But a win is a win and so a crate of ice cold lager and a dash of lime goes to the rebels.

The Mogul
No alcohol allowed here. Stick to the tasty nibbles provided by Qmel ... who's generously feeding the UK too and standing in for martin cube. Fish & chips .... mmm. And a serving of chip shop mushy peas . A clear head is needed to slither under the 60 second guillotine if you're going to grab bonus points for your country's arsenal.
The USA wriggled under the chopper and snatched 3110 points = 45.3%
The UK & C0, the speediest limbo dancers on the planet grabbed 3750 points = 54.7%
The UK & Co won the July Mogul by 9.4%
In June it was 5.4%
Keep eating them mushy peas Uk!

The Survivor
The toughest of the 4 battles ... and it takes nerve as well as brains to dare dice with death with Piranha and avoid the Pit.... and all this whilst trying to beat the enemy! Tough, it's true. But fantastic for a pacificist pengy referee to watch. Those blood curdling screeches you can hear are me you know .... not the victims captured in the Pit.
But after three battles it's all going to hinge on the outcome of this one.
The USA bravely snatched 3375 points before elimination in the Pit. = 46.7%
The UK avoided capture long enough to bag 3855 points = 53.3%
The UK & Co army won the July Survivor by 6.6%

Ooo .... oooo .... time to rattle the abacus to find out who won the war!

The USA won 48.5% of the points.
The UK & Co won 51.5% of the points.
First Blood on the 5th Tour of Duty goes to the UK & Co army!
A win of 3%!
So .... my American friends ... do you have a strategy? Some secret military plan?
Is jules44 really only going away on her hols? Has she been abducted?

The first American to become Challenge Champ since August 2010.... and only the second American to have ever won it since this war began in July 2007.
