It was fierce fighting in January but I've dusted our hi-tech thrones off ready... and plugged them in.
Challenge Champ & Mogul Maximus ....
Will jules44 limp on up and claim her crown. Pengy really does believe our magnificent jules is truly unbeatable. Truly Invincible. Should the day ever come that an American can beat her there will dancing in the streets and a National holiday declared! Guess who was Daily Dervish. Yes! You've guessed ... but this is surely some kind of prodigious record. 24 wins. I kid you not. Our jules stormed home first on 24 days. Should I say this next bit ... oh yes, ...I shall say this with foolhardy confidence ... the day anyone from either army can beat jules and steal her crown I shall eat my tuxedo.
Titanasaurus Rex. Now this battle was a cliffhanger to watch. Each night I crept stealthily across the Titan battlefield with a tin of grease to sabotage the flagpole. No need ... was exciting enough ... a right tug of war. My flippers are now nibbled down to my elbows. So I'm proud to shake the paw ( with difficulty) of Quiz Beagle ... new Titanasaurus Rex ... 2 times winner. Can our gifted little canine make it three? No. Not this month. Mount Olympus beckoned and she's now an Invincible. So who will stop Qmel from aiming for the distinction of been the first Titan to grab three crowns. Oops ... almost forgot to brag! And Quiz Beagle grabbed most Daily wins too... with 8.
Sole Survivor ... Welcome back wondrous WorldB. Come on up and reclaim your throne ... it was cheeky and brave of markswood to nick it last month but I just knew you'd be back. Something just occured to me as I sit here on my swivel chair swinging my stubby legs .... I haven't jinxed anyone with a Pengy Kiss of Death for ages. Hmmm must rectify that ..... I'm thinking that jules is due to win this throne one day. Spooky isn't it that it's eluded her for so long. There ... let's see who it jinxs. WorldB or jules ... and oh a mention too for miffy42 with 8 wins.
I have a bucket of kippers to throw to our Olympians. (No, not the ones soon to be in the news. They've got no snow, poor things)

and whilst jules is racing ahead in the Survivor I'm standing guard on the edge of the Pit and stamping on the fingers of any captives trying to escape. Hey , good going my american buddies ... there's 7 UK troopers down there and only 2 of you!

Oh .. a visitor ... right I'll stop chuckling.
Time to be serious. Pengy's can do serious.
As and when needed.
Right ... HQ is buzzing. Stats have been fed through the abacus twice.
You'll soon see why.
But not to give the game away and ruin the suspense. Oops I just accidentally hit a tab thingy with my flipper with excitement.
The Challenge.
USA fielded 24 troopers (yes, they're deserting) .. won 8046 pts = 57.5%. This is very good.
UK & Co fielded 33 troopers , won 8184 pts = 42.5%.
Cor ... USA won the January Challenge by 15%. My application for American citizenship is on it's way to the White House! My ... yes, MY American buddies won the December challenge by 2.6%. This means something. I have it! This means that with fewer troops they played magnificently well! You have to admire them. I do.
The Titan
USA fielded 6 players. This is true grit! So I shall honour them and name them because they are something special.
Qmel .. scubascott .. twosleepy .. cubswin2323 .. shadowzep and Blackdress.
This crack squad of Americans who boldly go where few Americans have gone before ... won 1509 pts = 55.5%
UK & Co fielded 20 troopers, won 4041 pts = 44.5%.
I say has Barack been to pick up his post yet? I hope mines on top before anything from Gordon Brown or anyone else of no consequence.
The USA Titans .. outnumbered and battered in the trenches .. so few but so good ... won the January Titan by 11%. Last month the UK woad wearers won by 12.6%.
What a turnabout.
This is starting to look a little dangerous for the UK & Co army.
The Moguls
USA won 3440 bonus goodies = 40.8%. Er ... hmmm.
UK & Co won 4990 bonus goodies = 59.2%.
You just can't stop a determined UK trooper from slithering under that 60 second guillotine. The UK & Co win the January Mogul in terrific style by 18.4% ... last month it was by 14.6%.
Ah, I hear you ask ... does this mean then that the UK will have managed to pull back after losing the first 2 battles? Now there's a tricky one to answer.
I make haste ... frivolity is now out of place ... if not out of character.
The Survivor
Our USA troopers nabbed 3805 pts before been devoured by Piranha = 47.6% of the kipper bones in the bottom of the Pit.
Our UK & Co troopers nabbed 4190 pts before jaws caught them = 52.4% of the nice fishy fillets.
UK & Co win the January Survivor by 4.8% ... last month it was by 15%.
Be patient whilst I rattle the abacus to find out the overall winner.
Pengy observation : Isn't this thrilling. It's going to be so close.
The UK domination of the Mogul battle is untouched!
BUT ... the USA Titans have played magnificently. Will this little Band of Brothers (and sisters and furry creatures) help swing it and steal an American victory?
YES!
Over all four battles the USA are the supreme victors of the January war.
UK & Co = 49.6%
USA = 50.4%
That's cutting it close .. it's only 0.8%. Thank heavens for fractions hey?
