Curiosity got the better of me so I raided HQ..and this is what I found.
The Challenge
This battle is been ferociously fought...and our American friends are outnumbered. Has this dented their morale? Not a bit.
So far...the USA have bagged 54% of the points..and the UK & Co have snatched 46%. Come on UK! This is better than it was on the 10th...not by a lot...but it is better! (as in not so bad) Yes..you can do it...Quiz Beagle Wellington is waiting with paw hovering over the keyboard to mention you all in despatches...
But I'm nibbling my lip here...this is not good.

We have an infiltrator...a USA maverick hurdling the trenches! He's got behind enemy lines but he hasn't escaped my fond beady eye. Clamking#7..note the #7 tattooed on his rump...shouldn't be there...his points are void..but I say, you have to admire such patriotism. Is this a subversive psychological tactic to intimidate and frighten the UK & Co army?

In August the USA won this war...rather impressively evading Piranha and pushing the enemy into the Pit. I confess I was surprised and not a little gleeful...but I wipe my smirk from my face, I'm impartial you know...perhaps the Uk were a little put out? I know not. What I do know because the indisputable, sacrosant stats say so, is that now, this minute..even as Piranha is circling for KO3...the USA currently have 2045 bonus goodies stashed whilst the UK & Co have amassed 2775. ..or...USA 42.5%....UK & Co 57.5%.
This is truly dire news as I face west from my ice floe. ...you know, there's a thing called the Forlorn Hope...
And what does it all mean in simplistic pengy terms...
Overall so far the UK are winning with 55% of the goodies in the kipper barrel....with the USA having 45% of the oily skin...and very nutritious it is too, high in protein and oils and low in cholesterol, ask any dietician.....but I say USA this is a heck of a lot to catch up. My little tummy just did a nervous flip.

Challenge Champ....he's graced this throne before but not since...just a tick whilst I peep see...ah..since October 2007 and he's the only American to have done it. A massive round of applause for our new Challenge Champ...mos623....please come on up and park your derriere in this luxurious hi-tech, heated, vibrating and massaging truimph of science. I'm not sure but the gizmo protruding from the right arm might be a throttle or gear stick. Nice though isn't it? Can I ride pillion if you go for a spin?
This is worthy of a special prize ....I'm rummaging in my kipper bucket ...
The Mogul....and we have a new Mogul Maximus too....she's good..actually she's very good and so worthy! Yes! I mean you Deborah..so come on up , claim your smoked kipper to wear around your neck with pride and wriggle onto your throne. Pengy is proud to shake your hand...or be cheeky and demand a hug! This a noteworthy fact. Deborah is the only American to have won the Mogul.
The Titans .....And it's not an American! After a terrific fight our new Titanasaurus Rex is Doc...It's the first time he's won it (but not the last I'm sure) and he's grabbed the throne back under UK ownership. A kipper for you too.
The Survivor....and it's him! Again! Yes...our Sole Survivor is fab mike32768...with his fourth win a row....No one..just no one is going to prise you off your throne hey? This a noteworthy fact. Deborah is the only American to have won the Mogul. The Titans .....And it's not an American! After a terrific fight our new Titanasaurus Rex is Doc...It's the first time he's won it (but not the last I'm sure) and he's grabbed the throne back under UK ownership. A kipper for you too. The Survivor....and it's him! Again! Yes...our Sole Survivor is fab mike32768...with his fourth win a row....No one..just no one is going to prise you off your throne hey? Not to mention Piranha who's looking at you with a wistful but determined gleam in his avaricious eye. So come on up mike32768 and clamber onto your lofty throne..Everyone keep cheering....next we have to salute and bend the knee to our fearsome dwellers on the heights of Olympus.

Unfortunately this meant the eviction of Surrealist and scubascott...Yes scooby you can go and give them all hell on the Titans now...get over there quick..the americans are sadly outnumbered. And jules44 and StuHern also parachuted past..and she bounced as she landed and hotfooted it straight over there to create havoc. Hee..hee...it'll be a brave trooper who tries to stand in her way.

USA fielded 25 ace troopers, won 8106 points = 59% of the blueberry pie
UK & Co fielded 35 troopers, won 7796 points = 41% of the crumbly bits.
USA win the August Challenge by a massive 18%....YES! 18% (last month it was
by 2.6%)
Words fail me...I'm sucking my lip here...commiserations. What happened? Totally hammered.
The Titans
USA fielded 17 terrific fighters, won 1596 pts = 52.6% of the apple pie
UK & Co fielded the larger army, 17 troopers..but, alas were outsmarted with 3052 pts = 47.4% of the apple pips.
USA win the August Titan by 5.2% (last month won by 2.2%) I hoist the Stars & Stripes and wave to all those wonderful players.
This makes for horrendous reading UK.....
BUT...
The Mogul
I unfurl my next little flag....whew that's a relief, I can see it's red, white and blue. That's encouraging. I shake it out....
USA won 3560 bonus points = 46.6% of the grenades stashed in the arsenal
UK & Co won 4080 bonus points = 53.4%...Great! A win! This is more like it....
Stop hiding UK...you can come out now...look!

Seems to an uneducated, simple little pengy though that the USA put up stiffer resistance.
But... there's still a heck of a lead for the Uk to claw back
